Meet Jaxson, a grade 12 student, athlete and change-maker, who already has ideas about how he wants to help others and do more. His love of lacrosse and soccer lead him to mentor young athletes in various big buddy programs in his hometown. He would love to bring lacrosse to African primary schools and share his love of the game with the children, and in May 2023 and May 2024 he did just this. Continue reading...

The trip to Kenya in 2019, was a pivotal trip for Jaxson, who discovered his passion for helping others. During Jaxson's time in Kenya, in addition to teaching the primary children English and math, a lot of it was spent playing soccer with the boys living at the Agape Hope Children's Center (orphanage). He was able to get to know all the boys well, and create friendships that he maintains today. The boys pictured are the older boys living at Agape. They asked Jaxson to play with them during their weekly soccer game against another school.
It was after this trip that the fruit and vegetable program was born.

San Jose, Costa Rica

In December of 2019, Jaxson traveled to Costa Rica, where he taught English to primary school children in the marginalized and impoverished communities of San Jose.

Frankadua, Ghana

In May 2023 and May 2024, Jaxson travelled to Ghana and was able to set up the lacrosse camps for children in the community of Frankadua.  He has been wanting to bring lacrosse to Africa since his first volunteer trip in 2019. During these two trips he set up lacrosse camps, coached and played soccer with a local team, and did some childcare and food preparation for local schools. Thank you to NWMLA and to Kevin Crowley and Fusion West Lacrosse for donating the lacrosse sticks.
